On Tuesday, I wrote about my first virtual medical appointment that didn't transpire. Wednesday morning I learned why. The phone rang while I perused my emails. It was the med tech asking if I was ready for my virtual appointment with the nurse practitioner. Well, eh, I thought it was yesterday. No you are scheduled this morning, did you receive the email to log in? I did yesterday. She kept me on hold while she ran to check on what had happened. Seems that email was to go to another patient. Oops! OK. We got it straightened out and I was asked those questions that the nurse asks you while you get your temperature and blood pressure taken. I was asked if I was running a fever instead. No. I feel fine. No. I don't have a cough. Finally I rec'd the right email to log in and she stayed with me until I was connected and now I wait for the nurse practitioner to log in. When the video came on, I didn't recognize who I was looking at. Someone with gray hair that needed brushing, wearing PJs and drinking from a mug (coffee). Oh wait, that's me! I was going to take a shower, get dress and brush my teeth right after I was done checking my emails. Well thank the Lord, I didn't have to teleport to see her! That would have scared the crap out of both of us. She finally came on and we could talk and go over the needed medication refills. Whew! And she was happy I had an in-person, in-office appointment in August. After wrapping things up, I logged out and went to shower. While showering, I got to thinking...what if we had teleport machines and I had been teleported from the shower!!!
